Site plans are documents that detail any proposed improvements to a given lot. Each submitted site plan must be accompanied by a site plan application. Site plans for all commercial, industrial and multi-family (three or more units) improvements are required. These site plans are required to be stamped by a licensed architect or engineer in the State of Kansas.
For the submittal process, three hard copy plans and one electronically submitted plan are required to be submitted to the Neighborhood and Development Services department. Site plan reviews are held on Wednesdays; however, the site plan must be submitted by the Friday before the desired review date.
The planning staff will coordinate the review of all site plans. No work can begin on a project until a site plan has been reviewed and approved by the planning staff. A typical site plan takes 7 to 14 days to go through the review process.
