- About Us
The Garden City Recreation Commission is a political subdivision of the City of Garden City, Kansas that was established in July of 1965. The Commission operates and was organized under Kansas Statues 12-1922 – 12-1936 to provide holistic recreation services for the Garden City community. The Commission is governed by five volunteer board members; four of which are appointed by the Garden City Commission and one at large member.

A full refund will be allowed minus a $3 service charge up to three days prior to a class starting. In youth sports leagues: one (1) day prior to draft date. In adult sports leagues: prior to league placement, and in tournaments: three (3) days prior to brackets out. No refunds will be issued after that time unless approved by the Superintendent, or, in his/her absence, the Department Director. Refunds will not be given for weather-related conditions unless weather-related conditions cancelled the event prior to the start of the event. After the above, refunds will be prorated on a case-by-case basis due to instructor fees, supplies purchased, and sports rules criteria.
